HSV W427

HSV W427 (2008)

The HSV W427 is a high-performance sedan based on the Holden VE Commodore and the flagship produced in a limited edition since 2008, its manufacturer Holden Special Vehicles in Australia. The cars were brought out to the company's 20th anniversary of HSV.

The W427 is based on the GTS, but has, instead of the 6.2 -liter V8 engine the 7.0 liter V8 in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. This delivers an output of 502 bhp (375 kW) at 7000 min -1 and accelerates the car from 0-100 km / h in 4.7 sec. , Making the W427 the most powerful and fastest car ever built in Australia. He has a harder than the GTS tuned Magne Ride suspension ( electrically adjustable) and an amplified six-speed manual gearbox, a new exhaust system and more powerful six-piston brakes.

The name of W427 is a combination of different elements. W is a throwback to the founder of HSV, Tom Walkinshaw. 427 is just the engine capacity in cubic inches ( = 6997 cm ³ ), but also reminiscent of the HRT 427C, a model that also had a 7.0 -liter V8 engine, but never went into series production.

The first concept car, the W427 was produced in the same color as the first HSV model, the Holden VL Commodore SS Group A SV.

Since August 2008, the W427 for AU $ 155,500 will be, - sold. It will be built in total only 200 vehicles that will be sold only in Australia and New Zealand; a car remains the manufacturer.
