HTC Wildfire

HTC Wildfire is the name of a series of smart phones with Android operating system, which were manufactured by the HTC Corporation.

The HTC Wildfire is the first model in the series. It has a 528 MHz processor and the Android operating system in version 2.1. An update to the version 2.2.1 has been released on December 20, 2010.

Strong external similarities to the smartphone Nexus One ( which is also manufactured by HTC for Google Inc.) and HTC Desire. Unlike the Nexus One, the HTC Sense custom user interface is installed on the Wildfire, which is already used, among other things, on the Windows Smartphone HTC HD2. Furthermore, it differs from the Nexus One through the optical trackpoint in its place in the Nexus One is a mechanical control element is installed.

The device offers a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth, WiFi, a GPS receiver, an acceleration sensor and a digital compass. The display resolution is 240 × 320 pixels.

The newer version is the HTC Wildfire S, with double the screen resolution and Android 2.3. It was released in the second quarter of 2011.

The HTC Wildfire S, also known as HTC Marvel, came in May 2011 as the successor of Wildfire on the market.
