Huangfu Mi

Huangfu Mi (皇甫谧, Huang fǔ Mì; * 215, † 282) was a Chinese scholar and physician during the late Han Dynasty, Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty. He was the son of a poor peasant family in today's Gansu Province. Here also his mausoleum (Monuments of Gansu Province No. 293).

Literary creation

Between 256 and 260, towards the end of the state of Cao Wei, he put the canon of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (Chinese针灸 甲乙 经/针灸 甲乙 经, Pinyin Zhenjiu Jiayi jīng, W.-G. Chen1 - chiu3 chia3 i3 ching1 ) together, a collection of various texts on acupuncture written in earlier periods in 12 volumes and 128 chapters, which is one of the earliest systematic work on these issues and would prove to be one of the most influential.

Huangfu Mi also presented 10 books together in a row, the " Genealogical Records of Emperors and Kings " (帝王 世纪, dì shì wáng ji) is called.

Nail Angermann (1999) writes in her dissertation " The Diwang shiji of Huangfu Mi ( 215-282 ) "
