Huangyaguan

Huangyaguan (Chinese黄崖关/黄崖关, Pinyin Huang Yaguan, Yellow cliff ') in Ji County (蓟县) of centrally-administered city of Tianjin is an important junction of the Great Wall, about 30 km north of Tianjin.

Huangyaguan was built in 557 during the time of the Southern and Northern Dynasties. It was during the Ming Dynasty for defense against the invasions of the Manchu of great importance. At the time of the great soldier Qi Jiguang of the wall section with brick and stone has been substantially improved.

The section of Huangyaguan has a large number of typical designs of the Great Wall, including water and signal towers and the fortress Baguaguan and the great watchtower "Phoenix Tower ". The corresponding wall section is located on a hilltop and has some very steep sections to. 1986, the section was placed as a cultural monument by the city of Tianjin under protection. Since then, over 3,000 meters of the wall and 20 water towers have been restored.
