Hubert Weber

Hubert Weber ( born 1939 in Vienna) is an Austrian jurist. He was 2005-2008 President of the European Court of Auditors.

Life and career

Hubert Weber studied law at the University of Vienna. From 1959 to 1970 he was first active in the Labour Market Administration and later as Deputy Director of the Austrian Ministry of Social Affairs.

From 1970 to 1975 he worked as an auditor at the Austrian Court deals with testing activities in the field Chancellor's Office, Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice. From 1971, in addition to recourse project of the General Secretariat of INTOSAI, the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions.

Was he from 1975 to 1980, became head of the Cabinet of the President of the Austrian Court, he was later head of the competent for the General Secretariat of INTOSAI OU. From 1981 to 1989 Head of Personnel and Training Department.

Until March 8, 2000, the department responsible for ADAR ( development of the audit and preparation of reports ) and doyen of the ADAR Group. 9 March 2000 to 30 April 2004 Dean of Audit Group III is responsible for the audit of the budget range of the EU's general budget cooperation with developing countries and third countries.

From 1 May 2004 to 15 January 2005, he was Dean of Audit Group III External actions. Of 16 January 2005 to 15 January 2008, he was President of the European Court of Auditors. Subsequently, he was Dean of Audit Group I " Preservation and management of natural resources".
