Hubie Brown

Hubert Jew " Hubie " Brown ( born September 25, 1933, Elizabeth, New Jersey ) is a retired American basketball coach. Between 1976 and 2004 ( with interruption), he trained in the U.S. professional league NBA teams the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies. Previously, he was head coach of the Kentucky Colonels in the ABA, which he led to their first and only championship in 1975. After 2004 he surprisingly led the Grizzlies to a 50-32 season, he was named Coach of the Year. The then 70 -year-old is the oldest winner of this award. At the beginning of the season 04/ 05 Brown resigned for health reasons as coach of the Grizzlies and finished his career. His overall record as an NBA coach is 424 wins to 495 losses.

Hall of Fame

For his achievements as a coach Brown was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005.
