Huernia plowesii is a species of the subfamily of milkweed plants ( Asclepiadoideae ).

Features

Huernia plowesii forming stem succulent, erect or ascending, clumping shoots which grow to a height about 3 cm. In cross section, they are 4 - Rippig and densely covered with pointed warts. The flowers are single, facing outside and sit on a relatively short, max. 1 cm long stem. The sepals measure 5-6 x 2 mm. The corolla has a diameter of 2.5 to 3.5 cm. It is inside dark purple -brown, the tip of cream-colored with irregular chestnut- brown spots. 5, the inner tube - shaped crown has a diameter of about 6 mm. The annulus is about 5 mm wide; the inside is purple, dark red to the outside and goes towards the edge in dark red stains on a cream background on. The crown tip are approximated triangular, tapering slightly wider than long, apically. You are splayed outward, basal bald and hairy towards the apex weak.

Geographical distribution

The species is found in the southwestern part of Namibia.
