Hugh Howey

Hugh C. Howey ( born June 23, 1975 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is an American science fiction writer. He became known through the success of his Wool series, which he has published since 2011 without publisher in the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing program as an eBook.

Despite lucrative offers to Howey decided against selling his e-book rights to the Wool- series for the U.S. market. For the German market, the Piper Verlag secured the rights, including the e-book rights. The film rights sold Howey at 20th Century Fox. With Written and directed by Ridley Scott and Steven Zaillian to be commissioned.
