Hugo Herrnhof

Hugo Herrnhof ( born September 21, 1964 in Bormio ) is a former Italian Shorttracker.

Hugo Herrnhof is married to the Italian short track speed skating Olympian Cristina Sciolla. He was with Maurizio Carnino, Orazio Fagone and Mirko Vuillermin member of the Italian short track speed skating relay team that won gold at the Olympic Games in 1994 in Lillehammer. To date, this is the only Olympic gold, which was won by Europeans in the short track speed skating.

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary, as short track speed skating was still demonstration sport Herrnhof Silver had won the Italian quartet.

At World Championships Hugo won Herrnhof:

  • 2 gold medals: one in the relay, 1988, in St. Louis and with the team in 1993 in Budapest
