Hugo Paul Friedrich Schulz

Hugo Schulz ( born August 6 1853 in Wesel, † July 13, 1932 in Berlin; Complete name: Hugo Paul Friedrich Schulz ) was a German pharmacologist.

Schulz studied medicine in Heidelberg and Bonn. In Bonn he worked at the Institute of Physiology of Eduard Friedrich Wilhelm Pflüger ( 1829-1910 ). In 1877 he received his doctorate.

Schulz 1882 Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Greifswald. He worked on the phenomenon of hormesis. Along with Rudolf Arndt he developed in 1899, the Arndt- Schulz rule. His successor in 1921 Otto Sandriesser.

Hugo Schulz was a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina since 1892. His grave is located at the old cemetery in Greifswald.
