Hugues Duboscq

Hugues Duboscq (2008)

Hugues Duboscq ( born August 29, 1981 in Saint- Lô ) is a French swimmers. The breast specialist was able to win two Olympic Games and again at world championships bronze medal over 100 m breaststroke and eight medals at the European Championships in various relay and individual events and over twenty French title.

Career

Dubosq 2000 was the first time French champion and qualified for the 2000 Olympics, where he, however, as the last of his race over 100 m breaststroke in the semi retired, with the French 4 × 100m medley relay he finished seventh. Also at the European Championships in the same year he missed fourth 0.31 seconds behind the third in the 100m breast - race his first international medal, but then he could achieve in the next European Championships in Berlin in 2002. About 100 m breaststroke, he won bronze, with the 4 × 100m medley relay silver.

In the Olympic year 2004, he was found by a great shape; at the European Championships he won the 50m and 100m breaststroke and the 4 x 100m medley relay silver medal at the Olympics, the bronze in the 100m breaststroke and stood with the medley relay in the final, however, where only managed a fifth place.

After the bronze in the 100m breaststroke at the World Championships the following year remained of excellence, but he celebrated at the European Swimming Championships 2008 a comeback; about 100 m breaststroke, he won a silver medal over 200 m breaststroke bronze and thus qualified for his third Olympic Games.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he won the bronze medal over 100 m and 200 m breaststroke.

Only about half a year later, at the European Short Course Championships in Rijeka he could, after the resignation of the Ukrainian Oleh Lissohors, the Dominators over the chest routes in recent years, securing his first title at major international competitions. Duboscq won with a European record of the 200m breaststroke route. He was also on the 100 m breaststroke distance runner.
