Huizhou Pumped Storage Power Station

BW

The Huizhou Pumped Storage Power Station is a pumped storage power plant in Huizhou in Guangdong province in the People's Republic of China. It has eight pumping generators, which have a capacity of 2448 MW. The first units went between 2007 and 2008 to the network.

The hydropower plant is supplied from a reservoir, which is dammed by two Absperrbauwerken. The main dam is 56 m high and 156 m long dam from rolled concrete. The second ( auxiliary ) is dam 14 m high and 133 m long. The water from the upper basin reaches a power plant, the 420 m deep located in the underground, where it generates electricity, and then proceeds in a lower pool. This sub- basin is dammed by a 61 m high and 420 m long roll concrete wall. The water is pumped from there by means of the pump generators back into the upper reservoir back to be used again.

To be generated on average 4200 GWh per year.
