Humberto Brenes

Humberto Brenes ( born May 8, 1951 in San José, Costa Rica) is a professional poker player.

Brenes studied at the University of Costa Rica Industrial Engineering. His career as a professional player, he started with baccarat. His first poker tournament played Brenes in 1974.

1988 Brenes reached the fourth place in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. His most successful year he had in 1993. He won a WSOP Limit Hold'em as well as a pot-limit Omaha tournament and secured two bracelets.

In the World Series of Poker 2006 Brenes came along with Phil Hellmuth eight times in the profit area. In his career, Humberto Brenes has won over 6.0 million dollars in professional tournaments.

Its essential distinguishing feature is his " Shark" which he uses as a lucky charm and Card Guard in scene over at the poker table.
