Humphrey Searle

Humphrey Searle ( born August 26, 1915 in Oxford, † May 12 1982 in London) was a British composer and pupil of Anton von Webern and John Ireland

In 1947 his first twelve-tone composition. He wrote symphonies, piano concertos and ballets, as well as the soundtrack to Yeti, the Abominable Snowman and The Haunting.

He wrote books about the composer Franz Liszt, and developed the most widely recognized and most widely used cataloging the works of Liszt.
