European Hausen ( Huso huso )

The Hausen ( Huso ) are a genus of fish from the family of sturgeons ( Acipenseridae ) with two species, the European Hausen ( Huso huso ) and the Kaluga -Hausen ( Huso dauricus ). Both species can reach lengths well over four meters.

Some authors assigned the Hausen within the Real sturgeon in its own subfamily ( Husinae ) a. However, recent morphological and genetic studies indicate that the genus is polyphyletic and their species should be classified as Acipenser huso and Acipenser dauricus in the genus Acipenser.

Features

The Hausen 's mouth is in contrast to the sturgeons (Acipenser ) wide and semicircular and opens to the front. The barbels are flattened. In addition, the gill membranes of both sides of the head are connected to each other and have a free from the isthmus fold on the ventral side.
