Gartenhyazinthe ( Hyacinthus orientalis)

The Hyacinth ( Hyacinthus ) form a plant genus of the family of asparagus plants ( Asparagaceae ). The genus consists of three onion plant species that bloom in the spring.

The flowers come to mind short racemose inflorescences. The relatively short -stalked flowers are hermaphrodite, ternate and penetrating smell sweet. The six equal multiform petals are fused Roehrig 2 /5 to 2/3 of its length; the free part is bent back. The stylus is short. The flowering period extends from March to April.

Are formed capsule fruits. The spherical seeds are blackish brown.

The chromosome number is 2n = 16, 18

Occurrence

The area of hyacinths ranges from Middle East to South - Turkmenistan and northeastern Iran.
