Hybrid mail

The data transmission from the sender to the service provider is usually done as a file, using either special software or by web interface. The most common file formats are. PDF (Portable Document Format) and. DOC (Microsoft Word). There are also hybrid mail providers that are not postal service itself. Instead of the regular mail shipping also the transmission by fax is possible.

Advantages and Disadvantages

By using this method, the transport costs can be saved and may be reduced by transporting resulting pollution. Hybrid mail can be used by companies to outsource the ( automated ) mail delivery. For private hybrid mail may be more comfortable than the traditional letter delivery, especially if no own ( color) printer is available.

A disadvantage can be seen that misprints may remain unnoticed and will then be delivered to the recipient. Additionally, the receiver does not receive a signed original by the sender, but at best an expression with the image of a signature. Legal certainty is not given or restricted in hybrid mail. In addition, the hybrid mail service provider can view the content of the letter.

Alternatives
