Hymne National Voltaïque

National anthem Voltaïque was the national anthem Upper Volta 1960-1984. Melody and lyrics were created by the clergyman Robert Ouedraogo. The author refused deliberately to give the hymn a military musical character and reached for the composition back to a local folk tune. The first public performance took place during the independence celebrations in the night on August 5, 1960.

The anthem was replaced on 4 August 1984, the current national anthem Ditanyè, as in the part of the renaming of the country in Burkina Faso, the state symbols have been changed.
