List of historical national anthems

This list includes national anthems, which are no longer used. It is this

Notes on using this list:

• International organizations are in italics
• Be regional anthems subnational units, provided with arrows, under the State to which they belong, listed
• Hymns that were used on certain occasions instead of the usual national anthem will be treated as regional anthems
• In the modern colonial territories the 19th and 20th century typically the hymns of the mother countries were used, then these are not listed. Listed are colonial territories only if they used their own hymns
• To the extent information is available, all hymns are listed from the date of each State from which a hymn was used at the first time. Was their use exposed the meantime, this is noted.
• For most national anthems, there are no generally accepted translation, both the title and the text. The translations used here represent partly literal and partly analogous transfers
• In many early national anthems, which were not fixed by law, the question is whether it is already acted to national anthems in the modern sense, usually not clearly answered. Such hymns are written in italics, details for use are in the related article
