The 1360 km long Rio Grande [ ˌ χiu ɡɾãd͡ʒi ] is the left source of the river Paraná in Brazil / South America.

The river rises in Brazil to the south of the state of Minas Gerais in the Serra da Mantiqueira.

From there the water of the Rio Grande flows mainly in western directions by certain of our very large reservoirs ( Furnas, Peixoto, Estreito, Jaguara, Volta Grande, Maribondo and Agua Vermelha reservoir ). Subsequently, the Rio Grande united in Ilha - Solteira Reservoir, a very large lake, with the Paranaíba to Paraná.
