Nokor Reach

Nokoreach (Royal Empire, Khmer បទនគររាជ ) is the national anthem of Cambodia. The text is from Chuon Nat, the melody that has been edited by F. Perruchot and J. Jekyll, comes from a Cambodian folk song. The title of the anthem is also the name of an ancient Khmer kingdom.

It was first adopted in 1941 as the national anthem. Which celebrates the king in its first stanza - - As Cambodia in 1970 under Lon Nol by the fall of King Sihanouk became a republic, even Nokoreach was abolished, but in order in 1975 with the takeover of the Khmer Rouge for a short time to be back to the national anthem.

With the end of the Civil War and the Restoration of the monarchy as a constitutional monarchy in 1993 was again Nokoreach national anthem of the country.
