In 1948, a version in Filipino, O Sintang Lupa, proclaimed the national anthem. Not until 1956 was on the order of President Ramon Magsaysay, the revised version of Lupang Hinirang. The current version dates back to a last revision in 1966, and was confirmed in 1998 as the only official version.
