Land of the Rising Sun (anthem)
Land of the Rising Sun was established in 1967 as the national anthem of Biafra.
The name derives from the fact that the flag of Biafra had a rising sun. The text of the anthem comes from a poem by the former Nigerian President Nnamdi Azikiwe and was after the defeat and dissolution of Biafra in 1970 for a time to be lost. As the well-known hymn tune " Finlandia " by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius was used.
With the German translation land of the rising sun is generally referred to Japan.
