Hypo Tirol Innsbruck

Hypo Tirol Innsbruck is an Austrian volleyball club which plays in the Austrian league in the Central European League MEVZA and in the Champions League. In addition to the professional team to play in Hypo Tirol are trained in 14 youth teams and successfully participate in championships around 170 young people.

History

Today's Hypo Tirol Volleyball team evolved from the former club IAC volleyball. Since the 1997/98 season, the club plays in the Austrian Bundesliga and already in the 1999/2000 season they qualified for the first time for the European Cup.

The first highlight of the club's history was the third place in the European TOP TEAMS CUP 2004, which also qualified for the premier class of worldwide club volleyball, the European Champions League, could be managed. The first critically acclaimed Austrian championship was celebrated in the 2004/05 season and brought to the Tyrol after 30 years. The Austrian double ( championship and Cup victory ) was successfully defended in the following season 2005/ 06. Also in the 2008/ 09 season, the double could be retrieved.

A total of seven times, the club has taken part in the European Champions League. In the season 2006/ 07 and 2007/ 08 was the Hypo Tirol Volleyball Team Austrian Vice Champion and qualified for each of the European CEV Cup. The Austrian Cup could be in the past five years has won 4 times. After the rules change in 2006/ 07, according to which only Austrian players are eligible to play in Cupbewerb, was the Cup in 2007 /08 with the Austrian core of the first team, and junior players of U -21 and U-19 of the club, won.

In the seasons 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12 Hypo Tirol was Austrian champion again.

In addition to the first team that successfully represented professional sports for years, also experienced the junior level, thanks to the installation of a full-time youth coordinator, in recent years a steep upward trend. Just over 120 young people experience a professional and performance adequate training and successfully take on the Tyrolean and Austrian championships. All female and male junior volleyball players / interior are served by a total of six highly trained professional coaches. Numerous Tyrolean championship and top three placings were achieved in the recent history of the club Hypo Tirol Volleyball team.

European Cup

After Hypo Tirol had finished second in the 2005/06 season with victories over Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande and Unicaja Almeria fourth group place in 2006 /07 start Innsbruck in the Champions League. In Group A, they met with the German representatives evivo Düren, the former overall winner Tours VB (France) and locomotive Belgorod ( Russia) and Portol Drac Palma Mallorca ( Spain) and OK Budućnost Podgorica ( Montenegro). Each team played five home and five away games.

In the 2008 /09 season, the Hypo Tirol Volleyball team played internationally in the CEV Cup and survived the first round against the Romanian Top CVM Tomis Constanta Club. In the second round of the Tyrolean then resigned from the team against Olympiakos Piraeus Greece.

2009/10 met Hypo Tirol in the Champions League in the group C on the teams of Lube Banca Marche Macerata, Noliko Maaseik and Budvańską Rivijera Budva. The Tyrolean failed to qualify for the playoffs with the second place for the first time. Subsequently, they won the KO match against VfB Friedrichshafen and failed to reach the Final 4 is very scarce. Finally, it was the most successful season in the club's history.
