I'm Old Fashioned

I'm Old Fashioned is a composition by Jerome Kern, with the text of Johnny Mercer from the year 1942.

The song was for the film You Were Never Lovelier ( You Were Never Lovelier, 1942) wrote, in which he sang (in place of the actress Rita Hayworth ) and Fred Astaire by Nan Wynn. The first recording of the song was released in 1942 by Astaire, accompanied by John Scott Trotter and his Orchestra.

Through recordings of Ella Fitzgerald ( Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Jerome Kern Songbook, 1963), John Coltrane ( Blue Train, 1957), as well as Stan Getz and Chet Baker, Art Farmer, Oscar Peterson, Bud Shank, Bob Brookmeyer and others was given the title to a jazz standard. Keith Jarrett's Standards Trio took him in 1995 to their live performances at the Blue Note.
