I've Heard the Mermaids Singing is a feature film by Canadian filmmaker Patricia Rozema from the year 1987.

Action

The focus is Polly Vandersma, a visionary dreamy, slightly awkward young woman who keeps up with time work jobs to support. Polly holds her life in photos and films that the film picks up playing again and again. So Polly told about her new job in a gallery. It develops more and more admiration for their urbane boss Gabrielle, who is in a tight financial and emotional relationship with the artist Mary. The story reaches its fatal climax when Polly massively intervenes in the lives of their boss.
