I Got You (I Feel Good ) is a song by James Brown. He is assigned to the genre of funk. I Got You ( I Feel Good) is Brown's most successful - and probably most well-known - Single.

Recording and Publications

I Got You ( I Feel Good) was taken in May 1965 in the Criteria Studios. The former band of James Brown was the James Brown Orchestra; on saxophone is heard Maceo Parker. Written, sung and produced was I Got You ( I Feel Good) by Brown himself The song was released in November 1965 on the A- side ( 2:44 ) of a single label with King I Can not Help It (I Just Do - Do-Do ) as a B- side ( 2:35 ).

Already in September 1964 Brown took the title I Got You with significantly smaller cast ( seven instead of 14 musicians ) a slightly shorter version ( 2:27 ) on. This is included on the box set Star Time.

For the album Live at the Apollo - Volume II from 1968 I Got You ( I Feel Good) was on the setlist, but the song by Brown and his band at the concert in a slightly accelerated and greatly shortened version was (0: 30) carried forward.

Reception

I Got You ( I Feel Good) is the most successful single that James Brown has ever released: # 3 on the singles charts of Billboard.

In the list of 500 greatest songs of all time of the music magazine Rolling Stone I Got You ( I Feel Good) reached number 78
