Ian Carmichael

Ian Carmichael, OBE ( born June 18, 1920 in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding, Yorkshire, † February 5, 2010 in Esk Valley, North Yorkshire ) was a British actor.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Carmichael appeared in several films. In Germany he was known esp. through a series of BBC television adaptations of detective novels by British author Dorothy L. Sayers. Carmichael played the role of aristocratic private detective Lord Peter Wimsey here. Some of these TV movies were broadcast on German television.
