Ian Irvine

Ian Irvine ( born 1950 in Bathurst, New South Wales) is an Australian marine biologist and fantasy writer, who also writes Ökothriller. He lives with his family in the mountains in the north of the state of New South Wales.

Life

Irvine studied at the University of Sydney, where in 1981 he earned a doctorate in marine biology. It was particularly interesting to him the management of contaminated sediments, which he quickly became an expert in this field. To deflect from the toils of his studies, he began to create the late 70s detailed maps and images of a fantasy world, what his graduation was delayed a half years. Immediately after graduating, he began at an international consulting firm to work, but from which he retired after two failed expeditions and then himself founded a consulting firm.

Now followed a few eventful years, where he worked both in Australia and internationally (Mauritius, Bali, Fiji). During this time he helped inter alia, in developing the national guidelines for the protection of the ocean. As early as 1987 no longer met the scientific work and Irvine started his first fantasy project ( The View From The Mirror) to create, where he took the created drawings from his student days as a basis.
