Ian MacDonald (actor)

Ian MacDonald ( born June 28, 1914 in Great Falls, Montana, USA, † April 11, 1978 in Bozeman, Montana, United States ) was an American actor and film producer.

Ian MacDonald's acting career began at the age of 17, when he played his first role in the British movie Madame Guillotine. This was followed in the 1940s, a number of smaller arrangements in Hollywood films. In 1949, he starred alongside Spencer Tracy and James Stewart in Richard Thorpe's adventure film Malaya. Because of its beefy stature, he was mainly occupied as a villain or henchman. His most significant, albeit relatively small role played MacDonald as Frank Miller in Fred Zinnemann's classic Western Twelve clock noon ( 1952). With Burt Lancaster and Charles Bronson, he played in Maasai - The Great Apache and Rock Hudson in Taza, Son of Cochise (both 1954). He also appeared in television series as a supporting actor in appearance. In the 1950s he also worked as a producer.

In 1960 he retired to some 90 film and television appearances from the drama business.
