Ian Siegal

Ian Siegal (born 1971 in England ) is a British blues musicians and singers.

Life

Siegal discovered the music of Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and Chuck Berry 's love of the blues. At 16, he worked as a roadie for the band of his cousin. There he also got the opportunity by chance in front of audiences to sing, with surprising success. At 18, he taught himself guitar. At age 20 he dropped out of Kunstudium and went to Berlin. There he perfected his guitar technique and decided when he went back to England to start a music career. He stayed for five years in Nottingham where he and a newly formed band were an integral part of the local music scene. Later he went to London to expand his music career and founded a new one, his current band.

Influences

Ian Siegal was heavily influenced by the works of Muddy Waters and Howlin 'Wolf. The works of Tom Waits he interpreted on his brain Dogs tour in 2006, with him doing his distinctive, smoky voice very came to help. In addition, new interpretations of blues classics as written by Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, Hound Dog Taylor, or Johnny Cash integral part of the live performances. The studio albums, however, contain mostly original compositions.
