Ibn Battuta (crater)

Ibn Battuta is a small lunar crater in Mare Fecunditatis, a Mare in the east of the Moon front page. It is located southwest of the Lindbergh crater and northeast of the Goclenius.
The crater is symmetrical circular with a wide inner surface. The sloping inner slopes have a slightly higher albedo than the surrounding Mare, but the inner surface corresponding to the surrounding area. On the western edge, there is a smaller crater, otherwise there is no abnormal characteristics.
The crater was Goclenius A called before it was named by the IAU by the Arab explorer Ibn Battuta.
