Ice Tower

The Star Bay Tower is 267 meters and 68 floors of one of the higher skyscrapers in Panama City. Construction began in 2008 and completion is scheduled for 2013. [ Deprecated]

History

Even before the beginning of the Star Bay Tower project was at this point in the Ave. Balboa has started the construction of a skyscraper called Ice Tower. It should be used with its 104 floors at 381 meters above sea level in response to the 97 floors also planned Palacio de la Bahia. The project was stopped in the summer of 2007, after the earthworks and the installation steel beams were already well advanced for the foundation. To prevent corrosion of the steel beams and not to leave any excavation, the foundation was concreted in the same month. The competent subcontractors selected for this purpose from a Sunday to have the necessary equipment and manpower available and still be able to fulfill their smaller orders during the week.

In May 2008, work was resumed on the building site. The project was renamed now as Star Bay Tower named after the developing society Star Bay Group. In May 2009, broke on the construction site along a retaining wall, the water should be kept away from the construction site. They tore with parts of the adjacent sidewalk and a roadway and caused a failure of the water supply. Also in May 2009, the company announced Hilton hotels that they wanted to use 27 of the 68 floors of the Hilton Panama, which will include 351 rooms.

On October 10, 2012 broke out in the parking garage on the site of a fire that could be brought only after 23 hours by 200 firefighters under control. In addition to the Hilton Hotel, the Banco Internacional de Costa Rica ( BISCA ) to be housed in the building, which is why it is also called BISCA Finance Center.
