Ichijō Norifusa

Ichijō Norifusa (一条 教 房; * 1423, † November 6, 1480 ) (Japanese calendar :文明12/10/5 ), a scion of the high noble family, descended from Fujiwara Michiie was known as one of the go- Sekke worthy regent was enough to provide for Japanese rulers.

He was the eldest child of Ichijō Kaneyoshi. At 14, he was declared of age. In 1457 he was " Chancellor to the right, " the following year he was appointed regent for Go- Hanazono ( to 1463 ). As a pseudonym he used Myōkeiji -dono, posthumously, he was named Sokei (宗 恵).

He fled with his father, who resigned at the outbreak of the Ōnin War as regent (2nd term: 1467-70 ), to Nara. From there on a family estate in the province of Tosa. The local samurai chose him in 1470 to Gentlemen ( Tosa no Kokushi ), since the authority of the hitherto prevailing Hososkawa had collapsed. The election was confirmed by the shogun. Norifusa later returned to Kyoto back, be there born son Fusaie (一条 房 家) remained in the province and founded the Tosa Ichijō - line of the family.
