Ida Marcussen

Ida Marcussen (born 1 November 1987 in Kristiansand ) is a Norwegian heptathlete.

Marcussen won the 2004 National Junior Championship in the heptathlon. In 2005 she participated in the Junior European Championships, where they finished sixth. At the 2006 World Junior Championships, she won the silver medal. At the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka she reached after she first took part in the professional class, at the end of the 11th Place. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing she reached No. 21 A year later she started again at the U23 European Championship in Kaunas and arrived there on the seventh place. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009, she came to the first good interim results at the end on the 25th place. In the Summer Olympic Games in London in 2012, she took 28th place. As a guest starter at the German World Cup Qualifiers 2013 in Ratingen, she finished the heptathlon as fourth-placed with the third- best result of her career and a total of 6140 points.

Marcussen was initially a handball player, was discovered for athletics by Elke G. Udelhoven. Since 2004, she is coached by Luke Udelhoven.
