After her schooling Raming studied at the University of Münster and the University of Freiburg Roman Catholic theology, philosophy and pedagogy. She put the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) before a written submission for the full equality of women in the diaconate and priesthood. In 1973 Münster her dissertation was accepted to the Faculty of the University of Münster Catholic Theology. After studying Raming worked as a German and religion teacher at the high school Martinum Emsdetten. As an author she has written several books on the subject " position of women in the Roman Catholic Church ", in particular to women's ordination.

Raming reported that their personal " experience of suffering " as a woman in the Roman Catholic Church was the driving force for them to advocate for change in the church structures to allow women to ordained ministries access. In 1986 she was co-founder of the Association Mary Magdalene - initiative equality for women in the church.

2002 Raming was free from the Catholic Bishops Romolo Antonio Braschi with other theologians - including Iris Müller, Christine Mayr- Lumetzberger, Adelinde Theresia Roitinger, Gisela Forster, Pia Brunner and Dagmar Braun Celeste - ordained a priest. The Holy See referred to this act as invalid. Since Raming not recognized the nullity of their consecration and the expiry of a fixed cooling off period " no signs of repentance " showed she was excommunicated on 22 August 2002. It sees itself as a " thorn in the Church." Raming is unmarried and currently lives in Stuttgart.
