Action

Chantal Stacy is the daughter of French Germaine and Bostoners John. It is itself divided on the love and meets with several men. However, her father wants her to finally settle down and marry a man. It so happens that it would accept all offers of marriage of their friends Howard, Tom and Richard. The situation is resolved quickly and as John has a job offer in New York City, the family moved away soon from Boston.

In New York, Chantal while they buy a hat wants approached by photographer Eugene Wright. He is determined that she is his model. After a brief misunderstanding she follows him to his apartment, where both of them discuss about the meaning of marriage and the benefits of bachelorhood. Eugene does not think much of marriage, but they were invented by women to entertain women. Chantal, however, wondering how a man could ever live without a woman. But Eugene is holding her before, that he could at any time go to restaurants and have fun always with beautiful models, as with her. From her mother, who advises Chantal always in love affairs, they went on to win the Council to accept the challenge of a marriage, to keep a man a lifetime interesting for yourself. So they tried the next visit to Eugene to cook for him and goes with him to dance. Finally, he should marry and take up the challenge to keep a woman for a lifetime of interest in itself. After he refuses until he appears again at night with her and becomes engaged to her.

During the wedding, however, Chantal doubts whether she will be happy. Germaine you stand to the side again and thinks that they could only be disappointed if they are not going to use enough for their relationship. And so accepted Chantal later Eugene's desire to withdraw as a model and to be a housewife. Finally, she should soon be mother of their children. Only appears with Chantal's old friend and successful actress Tina soon a rival, from the Eugene and is still totally thrilled. This leads to a great marriage dispute and weeks of radio silence.

But when the time comes and Chantal is finally ready to promise never to meet again with Robert Swan, she is not only surprised that Eugene retires and insured, not a right to have to stand between her and the man she loves, she is also surprised when suddenly a Robert Swan is calling and is invited by Eugene to eat. When Robert Swan finally talks big about his relationship with Germaine and Chantal at dinner, it is certainly stunned. It was only by chance she discovers that it is Robert Swan is Adam Wright, Eugene's father. They upset so much that she decides to take off. If he wants to be single necessarily, but he should live alone. Only she later receives a telegram from Eugene, in which he pleads in his apartment. She finds there before a pack of dogs and an apology Eugene, that they may continue to treat him like a dog, as long as they stay with him.
