IFK Motala

IFK Motala is a Swedish sports club from the city of Motala. Today, the association of two sections, one for football ( IFK Motala Fotboll ) and one for Bandy ( IFK Motala Bandy ) has.

The association has its origin in the club spar IF, which was founded on 27 February 1932. In 1937 this club joined the football club Motala FF. The new sports association began to call itself from IFK Motala. Football was from the beginning in the club program. Since 1947 IFK Motala also had a handball section, which, however, was set in 1971 again. In 1965, Bandy joined as the third time sport that developed in the period following the figurehead of the club, once the Swedish championship was and today ( 2006 season ) plays in the highest Swedish league in bandy.

IFK Motala football

IFK Motala football is the oldest section of the club. However, they can not produce any great sporting achievements. In the 2006 season the men's team plays in Division 4 Västra, which is the sixth league. There are also several youth teams, which also participate in regular operation.

IFK Motala Bandy

Since 1979, IFK Motala Bandy plays in the Bandyallsvenskan and could in this time twice so far to participate in the final match at the Swedish league titles, one of which was recovered.
