Ihor Borysyk

Ihor Boryssyk (Ukrainian Ігор Борисик, scientific transliteration Ihor Borysyk; born June 2, 1984 in Simferopol ) is a Ukrainian swimmer chest.

Career

His first major international success was the bronze in the 100m breaststroke at the European Short Course European Championships 2004 in Vienna. About 200 meters breaststroke, he finished fifth. The following year, at the Short Course European Championships in 2005 in Trieste, he finished the 200m breast the fourth overall place.

In 2007 he was European champion on the short course 200 - meter breaststroke distance.

His most successful year was 2008 when he first 100m breaststroke gold and 200m breaststroke was able to secure the silver medal at the Short Course World Championships 2008 in Manchester.

In the following summer Olympic Games, Beijing 2008 he reached the final of the 100m breaststroke, finishing in seventh overall place. In the 200 meter breaststroke decision he was finally 14.

Furthermore, it was with a new European record in the short course 2008 European Championships in Rijeka European champion in the 100 meters breaststroke route. In addition, he reached the bronze medal on the 200 meters and fifth overall place on the 50 meter breaststroke route.

A year later, at the Short Course European Championships 2009 in Istanbul he could not defend his title over 100m breaststroke by winning the bronze medal.
