Ilario Antoniazzi

Ilario Antoniazzi ( born April 23, 1948 in Rai di San Polo di Piave ), Treviso, Italy ) is a former Archbishop of Tunis.

Life

Ilario Antoniazzi entered the Minor Seminary of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Beit Jala on 24 December 1962. He received on 24 June 1972 in the Co-Cathedral of the Most Holy Name of Jesus by Patriarch Giacomo Beltritti the priesthood. He was vicar in South Zarqa in Jordan, from 1975 pastor in fuheis in Jordan, from 1976 vicar in Marka, Amman, and in 1980 a parish priest in Smakieh, Jordan 1972. From 1992 to 1995 he graduated at the Teresianum a study of the theology of spirituality. He was parish priest in Rameh in Galilee - Israel (1995/2005), in Reneh, Israel, (2005/ 07), and again in Rameh (2007 /11). In 2011 he was appointed Director General of the Latin Patriarchate schools in Israel and thus responsible for the 44 Catholic schools in patriarchy with over 19,000 Christian, Jewish and Muslim students in Palestine, Jordan and Israel.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on February 21, 2013 to the Archbishop of Tunis. The Patriarch of Jerusalem, Fouad Boutros Ibrahim Twal, gave him on 16 March of the same year in the Basilica of the Annunciation Episcopal ordination; Maroun Elias Nimeh were co-consecrators Lahham, Auxiliary Bishop and Patriarchal Vicar in Jerusalem for Jordan, and Giacinto Boulos - Marcuzzo, Patriarchal Vicar for Israel and Auxiliary Bishop of Jerusalem. His office in Tunis took place on Sunday, April 7, 2013, instead. His episcopal motto is Turris Fortissima Nomen Domini - "A strong tower is the name of the Lord" (Prov. 18:10 EU).

He speaks Arabic, Italian, English and French.
