Ilarion Ciobanu

Hilarion Ciobanu, ( ilarion t͡ʃjobanu ), (born 28 October 1931 in Ciucur - Mingir, Cimişlia, Romania (today Moldova), † September 7, 2008 in Bucharest, Romania) was a Romanian actor and rugby player.

Life

Hilarion Ciobanu was born in Ciucur - Mingir, a small commune, which was then part of Romania and Moldova to today. He grew up in the port city of Constanta on the Black Sea. At the age of 12 he left school and worked in several odd jobs, including in the construction, fishing and as a laborer. From 1948 he also worked as a rugby player. He played for StiinTa Bucureşti, Dinamo Bucharest ' and at his last station from 1959 to 1962 with FC Progresul Bucharest.

A study acting, he took on in 1958 at the National University of Theatre and Film Arts " Ion Luca Caragiale ", which he, however, interrupted in favor of a movie offering for Setea. He was able to establish the Romanian film and played regularly until the end of the 1980s in over 60 feature films.

On the morning of September 7, 2008 Ciobanu died at the age of 76 of complications from throat cancer. At his own request his body was cremated in the Crematoriul Vitan - Barzesti.
