Illumination Entertainment is a film production company founded by Chris Meledandri in 2007. It is mainly for the animated films I - Despicable Me (2010), The Lorax and I - Despicable Me 2 (2013 ) is known.

History

Chris Meledandri, who was previously involved in the production of various animated films, founded Illumination Entertainment in 2007 with the support of Universal Pictures. Since 2009, Universal Pictures financed all the projects of the studio as part of an exclusive partnership.

In August 2011, Illumination Entertainment took over the French animation studio Mac Guff and its 300 employees.
