Imphy
Imphy is a commune with 3714 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nièvre in the Burgundy region. Imphy is in the arrondissement of Nevers and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the Canton of Imphy.
Geography
Imphy is located on the east bank of the Loire River at the confluence with the Ixeure, about 10 kilometers south of Nevers. The train station of Imphy lies on the railway line Nevers - Chagny.
Personalities
- Charles cliquet (1891-1956), a resistance fighter, a survivor of the Buchenwald concentration camp

Luc Moullet suggested Imphy ago as the capital of France, because the place closest would be the geographical center of the country.
