Important Cultural Properties of Japan

Important Cultural Property of Japan (Japanese重要 文化 财, juyo Bunkazai or short Jūbun重 文) is an official classification of cultural goods, carried out by the Office of Cultural Affairs. A distinction is made in Japan between "material" (有形 文化 财, Yukei bunkazai, Eng. Tangible Cultural Properties ) and " intangible cultural heritage " (无形 文化 财, Mukei bunkazai, Eng. Intangible Cultural Properties ) [note 1]. The appointment will be made if a material cultural heritage has an "important and special meaning ." Classification

To protect Japan's cultural heritage, ( Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties文化 财 保护 法, Bunkazai hogohō, engl. ) Was established in May 1950, the cultural heritage protection law enacted.
