Independent Liberals (Israel)

Libralim Atzma'im (Hebrew ליברלים עצמאיים, self Liberals) was an Israeli party from the 1960s to the 1980s.

History

During the elections in 1961 to the 5th Knesset, it was founded by the merger of Miflaga Liberalit Jisra'elit and Herut. In the elections of 1965, the party scored 5 seats and participated in the government coalition under Levi Eshkol and Golda Meir, Moshe Kol where tourism and development minister.

During the 6th Knesset, the party lost one seat, as yishar Harari left the party to join HaMa'arach.

In the elections of 1969, the party won 4 seats and again took part in the government coalition. Moshe Kol was tourism minister again. The party scored 4 seats in the elections in 1973 and participated in the government coalitions Meir and Rabin. 1977 was the party only one seat, after the elections in 1981 the party was no longer represented in the Knesset. At the 1984 elections, she joined the party HaMa'arach.
