Indian anna

Anna (Hindi: आना, ANA) is the name of a former Indian coin. It was minted in 1906 under British rule in copper - nickel and corresponded to 1/16 rupee. In the 19th century there were copper cuts to 1/12, ¼ and ½ Anna (both from 1835 ) and silver 2 Anna coins (from 1841). 1919-1921 were also 4 - and 8- shaped Anna coins in copper - nickel. 1957 led India to a decimal monetary system (1 Rupee = 100 paise ) and managed so that Anna as Münznominal from.
