Indian Ocean Commission

The Commission de l' Océan Indien ( German not officially: the Indian Ocean Commission, English Indian Ocean Commission ) is an intergovernmental alliance of some East African countries bordering the Indian Ocean for the purpose of political and economic cooperation.

Given the decline of the common African - Malagasy - Mauritian States Organization ( OCAM ) strove the island nation of Mauritius since 1982 to increased cooperation with its neighbors Madagascar (1974 from the OCAM leaked ) and Seychelles (1978 from the OCAM exiting) since 1984 various agreements on trade, fishing, transport and oil exploration were agreed. 1985 occurred in the Comoros and Reunion on Reunion Island is therefore also France indirect participants.
