Indios de Mayagüez

The Indios de Mayagüez are a professional baseball team based in Puerto Rico in Mayagüez. With 17 national championships, most recently in 2012, they are giants of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico (now Puerto Rico Baseball League) to which they belong since the founding of the League in 1938. Together with the Leones de Ponce and the Criollos de Cagua, in the meantime, however, played as Caguas - Guayama, they are the only consistently active founding team. Twice, in 1978 and 1992, they also won the title in the Caribbean Series del Caribe. Home of the Indians is the Estadio Isidoro García, which was newly built for the 21st Central American and Caribbean Games in 2010. During construction, the team played at the Estadio Luis Márquez Canena in Aguadilla.
