Indium ( III) is a compound of indium selenide, and selenium. Through their photovoltaic properties, the compound is the subject of intensive research.
Production and representation
Indium (III) selenide can be obtained by reaction of selenium indium.
Properties
Indium ( III) selenide is a black, fairly smooth solid which is readily soluble in strong acids. There are a total of five different forms of indium (III) selenide known which, α - β -, γ -, δ -, κ - be referred to as. The two most common forms α - and β - exhibit a wurtzite structure with vacancies in the cation lattice. The band gap of γ - In2Se3 is about 1.9 eV.
