Infernal was a Swedish Black Metal band.

History

Black Moon Infernal founded in 1996, after he had left the band Dark Funeral. In 1999, he brought the self-titled EP out as the fifth publication of his own record company Hellspawn Records.

Alzazmon, who had also played with Dark Funeral, was the drummer of Infernal. Matte Modin, however, moved to the EP and some concerts of Infernal to Dark Funeral. In addition, the band rehearsed with Typhos by Dark Funeral, and both bands rehearsed in the same building.

The band announced for March / April 2002 on an album and signed with Hammerheart Records, where the EP Summon Forth the Beast appeared as a foretaste of the planned album. In addition to two original songs it contained one each of Morbid Angel, OF and Bathory. About Hammerheart Records released in 2002, the material of the first EP as a split release with the first Dark- Funeral -EP, but this is not listed on Dark Funerals official website in the discography. The announced album never appeared. 2010 2010 EP The Infernal Return was published, occurred in the Black Moon with his real name David Parland and all the instruments except the drums grossed; Tomas Asklund Gorgoroth, who had worked previously under the name Alzazmon, helped out as a drummer. On the back of the EP Martin Halfdan are presented as a guitarist and a drummer Carl Engström.

2013 died Parland. He had just announced a new Infernal album. Since the band but at the time of his death consisted only of him, it is unclear whether he could finish the album.

Music style

The music is faster compared to Blackmoons previous band Dark Funeral and was described by Daniel Ekeroth as " [t ] euflischer, brutal and incredible Black Metal". Abbas of Devil 's Tomb called the first EP as a worthy successor to the Dark Funeral debut album The Secrets of the Black Arts, which shows that the good compositions the band of Black Moon came. Reminiscent Nhashi Voices from the Darkside described Summon Forth the Beast as mediocre and at their own compositions to Dark Funeral. Gunnar Sauermann from Metal Hammer compared the style of the EP with Dark Funeral and Marduk early. However, Bruder Cle from Rock Hard designated their own compositions as " musically competent shut battered, fast Death / Black Metal pieces of the brand Belphegor / old Morbid Angel, which thanks to the rich production bang tidy but also not really original bursting ", the self-designation as " Satanic Holocaust Metal" as " verbal nonsense ".

Ideology

Black Moon announced 2001 to be a concept album about Armageddon. He called Infernal as " Satanic Holocaust Metal" and the songs as invocations of the end of the world and of all living things; the end of Jehovah, Christianity, humanity and all life. The lyrics are as apocalyptic paintings that describe dark and sinister atmospheres, and not like Deicide texts, but more like dark, satanic and very apocalyptic poetry. On the EP The Infernal Return the term " Satanic Death Black Metal" is in use.
